The last breath of summer is here in Chicago. Every year Lollapalooza sells out. With hundreds of thousands of festival-goers fleeing to Grant Park over four days (the second year in a row) the city is filled with people. Literally if you’re trying to get around the city, whether attending the festival or not, I wish you look. I think I have out grown my enjoyment for this festival, since I only attended on Sunday. It’s hard not to appreciate the music while being in the center of the amazing city of Chicago, but these “kids” seriously need to get some parenting. Anyways, let’s focus on the highlights from this past Sunday at Lollapalooza.
This Cocktail Bar seriously saved my life! A cozy hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the festival. I grabbed some mouth-watering tacos from Big Star and a cocktail while lounging on some much needed lounge chairs.
I didn’t try out this roller skating rink (since I’m not very good…) but, such a great addition for an attraction other than music!

My boyfriend is a die-hard Arcade Fire fan, and we went especially for them. The crowd was everything that I had hoped for. A whirlwind of balloons entertained us before the show started and brought everyones adrenaline up. With not being able to take our eyes off the band, who was rocking out every song, Arcade Fire definitely played like it was their last. From the band going over on time by 15 minutes to the streets of Chicago humming Wake Up, hands down one of the best festival shows I have seen to date.

Once again another cool summer day called for some layering. Lollapalooza surely has a specific sense of fashion when it comes to the festival-goers who attend. It has more of a costume-y and flashy vibe. I decided to wear this rocking silver metallic midi skirt from Anthropologie’s holiday season paired with a ruffled gingham tube top from Zara. For some added covering, and to tone down the outfit without it looking too flashy, I threw on a denim jacket with a few enamel pins and beige Converse.

I tried to jam as much food/drink in as possible over this one day. I started off the day with my all time Lollapalooza favorite – the lobster corn dog at Graham Elliot. I also got another favorite, the chicken sandwich from Leghorn and Big Star. The craft cocktails were actually pretty good, I mean for $14 it better be damn good. Unfortunately, the “craft beers” were not to my liking so I just relied on those pretty damn good, but pretty damn expenses cocktails.
