Outfits: Chambray in the Neighborhood

One of my favorite things to do in the city is explore neighborhoods. Southport is one of my favorites! Nestled away on the north side, this neighborhood is a tight knit community with local restaurants, boutiques, bars, and the Music Box Theatre (a super cool movie theater). Since one of hobbies includes trying new restaurants, I wanted to take a walk over to Southport and enjoy dinner (more to come on that below).

One of the best things about Chicago are the houses, so much character and charm. This leads to a perfect backdrop for this easy breezy jumpsuit. It can get pretty humid, and gross, during our summers, so this jumpsuit gives the right amount of coverage and breathing room for exploring. I kept the rest of the outfit simple with some black round sunnies from Urban Outfitters, this super rad bar necklace a co-worker made, nude perforated mules, and my hair in a top knot.

Nestled away at 1349 W Cornelia Ave in Southport Corridor, Ella Elli is an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant serving up sharing plates and craft cocktails. Newly opened in March 2017, Ella Elli is open for dinner throughout the week and has a special brunch on Saturday and Sunday. This latest restaurant from 4 Star Restaurant Group is getting a lot of hype around the city right now with tables booking fast, so be sure to give them a call for a reservation.

I stopped by for dinner and enjoyed the steak tartare, confit potatoes, fettucine with rock shrimp, and the burger au poivre. For drinks I had the sidecar du apricot and the pink squirrel, which is ice cream and bourbon – my favorites! Looking forward to coming back, and definitely want to try out that brunch menu!
